Description of the painting by Titian “Adam and Eve”

The works of the Italian artist Tiziano Vecellio in the early period of his work were compared with the greatest painters of that time. His biblical and mythological paintings made an indelible impression. Among his customers were the most diverse sectors of society, he wrote both for ordinary people and for princes, dukes, even the pope ordered a painting for him. Each of his creations was saturated with a special energy, it seemed that the captured episode was about to come to life.

Such works include the painting of Adam and Eve (The Fall), written around 1550. The plot of the canvas is familiar to everyone - a plot from the Bible, which tells of the sin committed by the first people, thanks to the curiosity of a woman. Eve was beckoned by the forbidden fruit - the apple of paradise. This tree acts as an indicator of good and evil, the heroes themselves, not relying on God, were given a choice - to know its fruits, or still moderate their curiosity. The latter wins, as Titian reflected in his work.

Eve reaches for the apple, almost picks it off, and Adam hesitantly, but still trying to warn her, stretching out his hand to Eve's shoulder - as if asking to stop before it's too late. But on the tree there is another figure - an angel, or maybe a demon who took the guise of an innocent child. Behind the main action, a fox is visible, which the master placed behind the culprit with some background. Eve to sin with his conversations pushed the serpent, he is the devil, who can take many forms. So on the canvas he appears in the form of a fox, whose burning eyes betray his triumph.
